Legal: Importation Date- how to find?

Have client who wants to buy FN marked ".308 Match" and "Fabrique Nationale Herstal" and "Made in Belgium". HOW DO I DETERMINE ITS IMPORTATION DATE? I assume that my info is correct that the importation date determines whether it is legal or not. Thanks

You can't. BUT, none were imported post-ban, so if it has a US Importer's stamp on it (GSI, Steyr, Browning, Howco, and a few others) it's OK.
