View Full Version : Technical: Zeroes/sighting-in- where should the bullet strike at 25 yds?

to have it sighted in for 200 yds or 300 yds. I have the info for the .303, but need it for the 7.62. Have 4 FAL's to get sighted in. I understand how the sights work, so don't that info.

I am not sure, but I think between the eyes.

Two inches low.

The easiest way is to:
1. Adjust the rear sight to 200-meters.
2. Move the target out to 35yards and adjust your sights to impact dead center of the bullseye.
3. You are now zeroed for 200 meters.
4. To shoot farther than 200 meters, simply slide your rear sight to appropiate distance.

US M-14 practice was 4cm high at 25m. This produced a 250m BZO, guaranteeing a hit on target +/- 3 inches of POA, all the way out to around 290 meters, IIRC.
This is using NATO-spec 147 grain 2750 fps ammunition. YMMV.
