Smiths and other experienced folk. What is the best media for blasting plastic and to what effect, and what is best for removing the finish from metal and maybe some mionor corrosion?

for metal, I use #80 Aluminum oxide. Can use for plastic also, but do not use on bakelite handguards. Just sand those with 220, then wetsand with 320 and 400

I'm no smith, but I am experienced in auto restoration. IMO, for my tastes, aluminum oxide removes too much stock. I prefer glass beads or walnut shells. This media can be purchased at industrial supply stores such as Grainger, or any autobody supply store.
