Ident/Technical: meaning of V on Locking Shoulder

I was cleaning a kit that I plan to send for assembly to one of the boards smith and noticed the locking shoulder had a V inscribed on it BTW it is an R1.

could it be a roman numeral 5 (V)? Just a thought.
