Often wondered if any of the standard gov't.issue or aftermarket scabbards would work with an L1A1 type bayo. Seems every time I get to a gun show, I forget to take the thing alongfor a fit-check.
Wondered if anyone else had a clue?? Not necessarily looking for anything "period"; just functional.
TIA,

I wonder if one of the M10 plastic scabbards would work.Whats the blade length? I can picture the bayo, but don't know the length.

Why not just check with SLR-5000 to see if he has any ?
I would imagine the cost would be fair and it would beat looking around at a gunshow for months trying to find something that might fit.

L1A1 bayo blade is 1 1/2" longer and dosn't fit. I tried it in my M8A1 scabbard. Don't have an M10 to check but I would imagine the length is about the same. Standard M16 bayo blade is 6 3/8" long. L1A1 is 7 7/8" It does fit in my WWII Garand scabbard that's made for the shortened WWI Springfield bayonet but good luck finding one of those scabbards cheap...Blade on the Garand bayonet is 9 1/2"
