<h2><center>How to put pictures in your post.</center></h2>

Ok, I have had a few requests on how to post pictures with your text message so I guess Ill try and explain it and post it for everyone’s benefit.

First your pictures must be either scanned into your computer or imported from a digital camera. The pictures must be in a JPEG, GIF, or BMP format. Raw pictures such as PSD documents wont work and are usually too large anyway.

Lets assume you have some pictures stored on your computer and they are in a JPG format such as is the case with most digital camera pictures.

First you must get your images up to the web. That is they must be placed on the Internet in a storage place so that others may access and “see” them.

I will use PhotoPoint.Com as an example but there are several others that also offer this service at no charge like http://www.hunting-pictures.com

Go to http://www.photopoint.com and sign up. Once you have registered you will need to “login” using your user name and password.

Once logged into Photopoint you will have a list of options running across the top of the page. Select “Upload Photos”.

Then choose the method you wish to use to upload your pictures. I prefer “Easy Upload” as it is very simple to use.

1. Just select the number of image files (photos) you would like to upload (1 to 10), and click the "Browse..." button by each field to select the image files from your computer.

2.When you've chosen up to 10 image files, click the "Upload Now!" button.

3.You will see a notice that tells you the image files are uploading, and you will not be able to use your albums during the brief period that the uploading notice is displayed.

4.Although this method is faster than submitting them via email, you may have to wait a few minutes for your photos to appear in your "Incoming Album".

Once your images have been uploaded you simply click on the photo you want until it is displayed on a page all by itself, Then copy the URL address for this page (the complete information in the web address window of your browser) and paste it into the message of your post after or before your text using the UBB Code. The UBB code is similar to HTML (HTML is the code web pages are made of that allows you to see them).

This “code” is referred to as a TAG. You place the TAG at the beginning and at the end of the URL address of the image you wish to include in your post.

The UBB code for images is as follows:
Example of use WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE DOTS I AM USING FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES. [IMG.]xxxxxxxx[/IMG.]

Note: the "http://" part of the URL is REQUIRED for the [img] code.

NOTE:The UBB software now allows you to simply select the button labeled "Image" found beneath your text box when posting a new message. Simply click the button labeled "image" and a box will appear asking you to list the URL or "address" of the Image you wish to display. You can paste the URL address of your image here and click "Ok". This will automatically place the correct UBB code tags before and after your image address as described above.

That’s pretty much it. There are further instructions on using the UBB code at this URL address.

What is UBB Code? (http://www.falfiles.com/cgi-bin/forums/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=ubb_code_page)

Good luck, FootLongCuban
