I have a couple of them. A 6 inch and a 5 inch models and their made in Japan. I am not sure if the current one are now made in China. Yes i do really like mine. I remenber reading a guy use one in a knife fight and he cut up two guys with it. They said the wounds were pretty nasty with using a serated edge knife
