Ahhhhhh The Quantico(sp) weapons vault. Sweet.

Now remind me again why they were rejected?

Mama!!!!

..and you know, most of the standard rifles are blocked semi only.

Unfortunately, the pinheads that rule don't allow us peasants access to such fine items.

What a waste. Wonder when they be scrapped and I get to shave with them?

What a thought....

Regards.

A later post by the individual pictured said they have around 70 of the H&R T-48's in the vault. Surely those Marine armorers at Quantico wouldn't miss one or two..... http://www.fnfal.com/forums/smile.gif

My understanding is that at least half of the original order is in the arms room, about 250 weapons. The ATF has declared them NFA weapons(full auto) even though they were
manufactured as semi's. Go figure.

That has to be a fairly recent picture? When I was at Quantico we did not wear our names on our uniforms. But then that was a very long time ago!!!!!!Tell me again why the government does not sell "surplus" items that are no longer deemed to be required in the inventory???????????

Just put one together this evening with the same wood configuration. Metal needs finish, but works like a bullet hose.

Heres the funny part, the guy in the picture: I went to armorers school with him.

I've been inside the TBS armory, this looks a bit like it...hard to say been 12 years.

The USMC went to name tapes when Al Gray left the commandants and I believe it was Carl Mundy that brought them back...1990? maybe 1991...

I was working with some Jarheads at USSOUTHCOM in Panama in 1992 when they had had to start wearing nametags. Can't remember which month it was though.

Please help out a dummy, what is a T-48 and why is it the Holy Grail of FAL's?? Was it a U.S. made FAL? Looks like a sweet piece!

Im thinking of doing a T48 clone as my next project. Inch front end and rear sight, stripper clip dust cover, metric DSA type 1, metric lower, maybe Ironwood furniture then a gray park job and voila.....the gun that never was.
