Is there anything that you cannot own in New Zealand?

Nope......... although some things are very hard to find now days an we have prohibited items that can't be brought in at the moments that includes:

Double edged knifes
Bayonets
Military Styled Semi Automatics MSSA's (L1A1/G3/AR15/Type 56 etc.)
Modern SMG’s & Assault rifles (interTec’s, UZI, P90, SA80 etc)
and some other items I can't remember.

It always amazes me what I do find in New Zealand, although as Andy the Aussie will know..... don't let the NZders near anything we will borrow it if it's not nailed down... and if it is nailed down... that’s why we have the Engineers to cut/slice/pry/dismantle/surgically remove with explosives the item so we can have something decent to use too http://www.fnfal.com/forums/biggrin.gif

I have seen items in the hands of collectors here that would make some people pass out muttering...... bbbbbut there's only 2 documents pistol/rifles like that in the world.... where's this unrecorded one been hiding http://www.fnfal.com/forums/confused.gif

This also goes for things like cars, trucks, motorbikes, equipment etc. New Zealand is small compared to the US we only just now have 3.5 million of us buggers running around here.... New Zealand population increased drastically during the gold rushes in the 1800 when a lot of people came from the States, Europe & England and all sorts of goodies came with them.

So you just never know what you will find when you have a look...... We now have a flying Hurricane Mk 2 that has been restored ... the only one in the Southern Hemisphere.

But back to the main story………. It is fair easier for me to import a working MG42, M60, M1 SMG, then to get a poor old battered L1A1 in. That's because these are full auto and are restricted weapons that go on a differnt licence http://www.fnfal.com/forums/frown.gif

Did you ever find out why your first G-1 has a type two receiver and the meaning of the butt stock cartouche?

Andy, what's wrong with Tasmania (or its inhabitants)? http://www.fnfal.com/forums/redface.gif I was thinking of buying a bridge from a guy there... over the internet, sight unseen... seemed like a good deal... http://www.fnfal.com/forums/wink.gif

Kevin, only 3.5mil Kiwis on 2 BIG beautiful islands... better knock off the Socialists before their immigration policies ruin it for everyone... then bribe cartographers in N. America to shrink NZ and mis-locate it by several thousand km on all future maps. http://www.fnfal.com/forums/biggrin.gif
