Waited for 2 weeks but it showed up yesterday. Still cleaning up the wood but have some pics of the differences in the 8L series C1A1, The last series made. These include a new ejector, new front sight ears and new style front sling swivel to prevent full rotation. Also posted the markings so that some would not be confused in thinking that the CAI FN's marked "Made in Canada" were actual C1A1's.

Hi kevin, yes it's from CS. I was wondering if you had gotten yours yet. When it came it was covered in preservant and the wood looked pretty oily but cleaned up very well, only a couple of small dents that mostly came out when washed with hot water. I am in the process of refinishing it in boiled linseed oil now.
On the bottom right of the lower and on the right side of the butt, the O.P.P. (Ontario Provincial Police) ownership mark has been stamped out, but it does not look too bad. I'll post pics of the finished product later.

FLC, I don't think that they can be imported into the States as they are sear cut and have the evil flash suppressor with lug. Maybe a collector or class III dealer could do it but I don't know for certain. I'm sure someone will be able to give you a definite answer.

I'd comment but it would be a solid stream of profanity...
