I don't know much about art, but I know what I like... :)

Hesse receiver + SA kit + Izzy HG + assorted US parts by DSA, VOW, and FAC.
Barrel cut to 16" and recrwoned, I added the "Barrel Weight" from an old STG kit with the flash-hider portion removed, I just think it looks cool (though I still have to reblue the ends)

Hesse receivers are ok once you do a few and can anticipate the problems. (Of course they ALL shuld be as good as Imbel!)
But aside from the cosmetic issues, main thing I have had trouble with with the Hesse was the rails where the bolt carrier rides, the machining is rough, and requires some filing and work with a wire wheel to smooth them out.
Once that is done, my Hesses seem to work as well as my Imbel's (so far anyway)

:) Scope is a BSA 42mm red dot, Midway sells em for about $45...
kewl thing is I can still see and use the normal sites right through the red dot even with the power off, so I'm not screwed if the batteries die...

yorick-
how nice are the 30mm scopes, that is all they have on sale. I am rally new to scopes, what do I need to mount this with? I ordered the FWRA scope special for FAL can I use that mount?

I was wrong, i look at the BSA again and it IS the 30mm....doh!
It works great at 50yds, I get 1 ragged hole with milsurp ammo at 50 yards, so-so 50+ to 100 and is pretty useless over 100 yards, the dot is too big for those ranges.
But for fast target aquisition at short range (under 100 yards) it can't be beat.

Looks like you have that BSA on a B-square or Federal mount. Can you still use the iron sights through the glass?? I put mine on the Tapco mount (which is a little bit higher than the others) and cannot use the iron sights in a pinch.

It's a Federal Arms mount, and yes I can (just barely) see the iron sights through the bottom of the scope glass.
I thought about replacing the sights with the taller inch pattern or izzy versions which would place the iron sights alot closer to the middle of the scope, but decided it was more trouble than it was worth since I'd have to mess around with the front sight & gas block also. Might still do that someday after I play with it for awhile.
