I went out to test some West German 7.62 for accuracy and decided to compare it with Portugese and Radway Green. The day was clear and sunny with a <5mph wind coming up range with temps in the 70s. Rifle was a standard 21" ARS FAL on a sandbag rest. Target was placed at 100 yards. Point of aim for all shots was center mass with iron sights.
The top group was shot with the Portugese. Four rounds. This stuff seemed hotter than the other two brands and will cycle the rifle with the gas regulator wide open.
The bottom group was the RG. Lowest recoil of the bunch. Five rounds this time around because the first shot failed to eject due to the wide open gas setting from the Portugese ammo. Replaced the one round in the mag and finished shooting.
Center group was shot with the West German. Four rounds. Recoil was just right. :-D Finally, a pictoral explanation as to why my groups were always shifting! No more fiddling with the sights for me.
