View Full Version : My new baby (now with FAL content)
Here is my new baby. I just want to let the previous owner know that he is in very good hands since I love him (my baby) so much.

Since I'm without a folder of any kind, I'm envious of any and all caliber folders....
Looks real pretty.........
Nice Galil! The best AK design!
Nice, but you shoulda' got the .308 (unless you already have one). ;)
BTW- Looks like a Magnum Research import, yes?
It is a Magnum Research import. Bought a Magnum Research 7.62 Galil ARM in 1987 (expensive then). I hated it. Recoil was really bad, the bipod legs would jump up high when fired, always a bruised shoulder after firing. Sold it in 1989 to buy uniforms, etc. when I was getting into the Army. I guess Magnum Research imports didn't come with night sights. Anybody know a source?

Kevin,
MR rifles DID come with night sights, but more clarification is needed.
When MR first started importing Galils, they did not have approval from the NRC to import the tritium night sights - this was in the early 80's.
MR was supposed to contact the original owners and offer a free refit for the sights. Appartently, your rifle was not upgraded.
More importantly, determine if your firing pin is spring loaded. It should be. Free floating firing pins may be dangerous if shot with "soft primered" ammo. This was another "free upgrade" by MR to the original Galil owners.
Feel free to contact me at: yog@rogershsa.com if I may be of more assistance to you.
Be safe,
Joel N.

PS: Here's a link to the NRC approval of MR's tritium sight importation. You'll need PDF to view it.
