Perhaps this will come turn out correctly.
This is a shot of the sub moa FALs that I produce. I read tonight that there are four gunsmiths that take care of the FAL board. Any room for another. We have complete FAL capabilities, but specilize in FAL accuracy, doing 'smith work since late '70s. Any other qualifications needed??

You have to post the individual pictures (.jpgs) for them to link.
Here's the link: http://www.geotec.net/taylorwkrs/id9.htm
Nice looking FALs.
Try opening an account at photopoint and uploading your photos to there, then post the link to there with the image tags (html).

requirements are:
Show up
do good work
some people have an additional requirement that you rub their shoulders and whisper sweet nothings in their ear, but I think I alienated that bunch.
welcome aboard

That hanguard must be pretty special as I would think that removing it would change the zero of the scope. Also wouldnt the scope get a lot of vibration mounted at the end of that rail. It looks too much like a tuning fork for me.

You make some excellent observations that need to be addressed.
First, the base in not intended to be removed. Return to zero bases are more talk than reality, but even the best ones are not as good as ones which are not removed.
Secondly, vibrations were the a concern that had to be looked at before production began. The type of material used, how secured, length and what is mounted upon it are all factors. The real question may be: Because there are more vibrations than a conventional design does this mean they are harmful, and do they warranty the outcome. As a geologist, it probably the first think you thought of, and I would have also. (Most people would not have thought of this,.... you are the first person to inquire). Vibrations have not proven to be harmful and the outcome of accuracy that is superior to anything else (at least that I have heard of or experienced) around seems to vindicate the thesis. Looks ARE important for FAL owners, but "looking like a tuning fork" for one may be a fair trade off for terminal accuracy for another.
We also make a true floating handguard aluminum or fiberglass) that uses the dust cover sighting system because there are many different goals represented on this board.
The H&K SL8 is a strange looking rifle, but they perform well anyway. This one does too.
Thanks for the response.
