Here's some images of an IAI M444. The only thing I have done to it is recoated the furniture with aerosol truck bed liner (amazingly durable).

Excuse my ignorance but what is IAI? Is M444 the rifle designation? I am familiar with most forms of the FAL but not this one.

IMI 444 is a model of FAL rifle being imported and sold right now. It is an Imbel rifle and receiver. The price is medium to low and it fits (in price) between a CAI and a DSA. AIM surplus sells them but I don't think they advertise them on their website. Shotgun news has several vendors selling them.
