Protective cover for Trilux scope?

Would like to put a protective cover over Trilux scope to keep out dirt or scratches on glass etc.
Does not have to be original.

Anyone know where to find one or correct size?

Scopecoat neoprene cover would be good if I knew the proper size.

Im talking to a vendor that might just be willing to make such a beastie if we can get enough orders together. Just length isn't the problem the offset optics & prism housing need to be built in to the design.

He's promising to get back to me with a base price for exactly what you describe.

The only other thing available is the original case, both rare & only designed to be used with the sight dismounted.

They were meant to be removed when not used. The Brit user was issued a canvas case for the thing which attached to his web belt. They were trained to normally use the iron sights and to deploy the scope on commmand.

I found one in a local surplus store last year in a bin of mixed whatevers. I admint that was pure dumb luck. I id'd it by the brit stock number.
Century used to sell boxes of assorted canvas crap for $10, years ago......this one came out of one of those purchases the shop owner told me.

There already is a cover that will work with the sight... sort of.

There's a military issue cover for the British L85A1/A2 (SA80) SUSAT sight, its a olive green nylon cover with an elastic opening that at a push will fit over both the concertina eye-piece and straight eye-piece versions of the SUIT Sight.

It's a bit of a squeeze but so long as the sight isn't stored with the cover in place it shouldn't deform the eye-piece.

The covers can be found on eBay from UK based sellers.

Gents- I've found that a US M-16 three- 30rd mag pouch with the magazine separation strips removed works well for the SUIT scope.

looks pretty easy to make. Just get a piece of canvas and sew an elasit bungi cord section in it Or draw string).

You're better off with a fabric with some kind of built-in waterproofing than plain ol' canvas.:smile:
It's a great recycling project for those pinholed waterproof ALICE pack liners.:eek:
