German radio operator with G1 FAL [B&W]

Thought a few folks might be interested in this pic of a soldier of West Germany's Bundeswehr, with an American PRC-6 *walkie-talkie* and his G1. The radio would date the photo to the late 1950s or early 1960s, as does the radio operator's US helmet and the wood butt and pistol grip on the rifle.

P.S. From where I'm sitting (radon filled basement) it looks like that pic is reversed. Notice the carry handle and angled portion of receiver is showing.

Humm, one of those "lefties" would be just the ticket to get my fence sitting buddy off his a** to let me build him a FAL. He will buy anything left handed. I hate it, he has really nice stuff but all with the bolt handle on the wrong side! How can I borrow stuff that way?

I too am a lefty, but not a leftist.

I think that the FAL is about the most left-handed service rifle there is.....

Finally, a rifle where I can work the bolt with my firing hand.......I don't have to tuck the butt under my armpit, or some such similar nonsense.
