View Full Version : My Build

I just got done Duracoating my hybrid FAL. It's a metric STG-58 upper w/ inch lower built with an Entreprise receiver. I did all the work myself, including the barrel timing/ headspace and many custom modifications. I originally built it in 1998, and had Alumahyde'd it, but that was flaking off. Anyway, here she is:

Very nice, it looks sleek. The finish almost looks like a blueish gray or is it just my Jacked up moniter. Anyway neat rifle. You should post this in the FAL Images section.

Man is that super cool! I really like the scalloped out scope mount too. Very original. I think thats one of the nicest custom jobs I have seen here.
You should post this in the FAL Images section.

Ok, I will post this in the images section, thanks.
Yes, it is sort of a blue gray. The color I ordered was combat gray and it was so dark it was almost black. I wanted the rifle to stand out from the black furniture, so I mixed in some snow gray I had left over from another gun I did, my Storm, until It looked about the right shade.
That is a DSA scope mount that I always thought was too blocky on the gun. So I slimmed it down where the clamps were not at, reducing the profile and weight (I know, not much). It's still 1/8" thick at the scalloped sections.
Oh, I almost forgot. I also recut the ejection port on the scope cover. It goes up as it goes back, like the original dust cover does, and goes further back than before. Maybe it won't get so beat up now.

That scope-mount/top-cover looks evil - nice job :D

I did post it up in the images section, with a lot more details than here.
