View Full Version : TAPCO replacement spring set

I finally got my inch receiver and am getting the final parts together for my L1A1. I have seen the replacement spring set sold by TAPCO for the L1A1, and was wondering since I will be breaking down the whole rifle, should I use this set to replace all the springs as i reassemble ?

Are the replacement springs quality as good as the originals ? The set is only $17 so the cost is not the factor, just wondering if anyone has an opinion about the utility of replacing the springs.

Your L1A1 is probably 30 or 40 years old. A new set of springs is a good idea. Keep the old set as backup. This is what I do, anyway.

Suggest you use one of the Files venders for parts when possible. :shades:

I have used various springs from the TAPCO sets in a couple of different rifles with good results...

I usually only use the springs from the TAPCO set that I need to complete the rifle, retaining as many of the original springs as possible in the completed gun. I keep the other TAPCO springs as backups...

If it ain't broke, why fix it?

Regardless, the springs in the TAPCO sets work well.

Might want to check out Falcon and GPG. Think falcon manufactures his.
