I got the Tapco mount I ordered today. I wasn't expecting it this soon, especialy with past experience (not TAPCO) ordering things shipped ground shipping from the east coast. I forget about priority mail. :cool:
The mount looks well made, no visible machine marks anywhere and a nice dep black finish.
The mount came with an extra set of mounting rails. After looking at the ones installed on the mount I could tell why. The installed rails appeared to be crudely made and the extras looked absolutely flawless. Also there's an extra set of screws and washers.
Overall at this point if it sounds that I'm pleased, it's because I am, thanks TAPCO. :D
As far as weight is concerned, it did not seem that heavy to me. Of course the only humping I'm going to be doing is from the truck to the firing line and back. ;) My L1A1 doesn't seem as heavy as the M-14 I carried in Viet Nam, but that was then...
