Inch pattern receiver went together and headspaced in 5 minutes (once I had everything set up). Timed about 1120. Fit and finnish so far are near perfect, charging handle, mags ect fit fine. Dust cover was tight and I might have to file the right tab just a little because it catches but still went on with some force. It is a very low serial#.

Metric reciever, the barrel (G1 kit) timed to about 10 o'clock and will need just a little work before barreling. Mags, charging handle, mag catch fit tight but should be fine after a little use. Dust cover went on w/o problem not too tight, just right. Bolt caught a couple of times on the mag lips(where they start) near the ejector block. I manually worked the carrier/bolt back and forth a couple of times and it went forward on its own. Two very small shiny spots on the rear mag lips now. I'm sure it will work fine though. I will check it out more tomorrow. Bolts on both receivers slide freely (with a little work on the Metric).

Inch locking shoulder seemed to be tight enough to keep it in, I went through the same amount of effort as on the Imbels and Enterprise builds I've done. Metric is a low serial# too.

So far I'm happy with them, they look great (sorry no digital camera, no pics). I will assemble G1 tomorrow, won't shoot until Saturday. Will post results.

Thanks,

Woohoo - mine's coming soon, too. What size locking shoulder and breaching washer did it take to headspace and time correctly?

Doooh...metric receiver is a high # 1500 range. Inch was 000 range.

I used a .271 locking shoulder, came with the inch kit.

I had to fit the inch hold open device on the L1A1, metric hold open works fine (drops in) w/o modifation in the inch receiver as well as the metric.

Everyone should be happy with these receivers.

Take care all,

Cowbilly, on the metric/G1 build:

How much did you have to take off the bbl shoulder?

What size LS did you end up using?

Thanks. Sounds like things are sorted out. Can't wait till mine show up.

Slugger, .260 locking shoulder on metric. I don't have a lathe, a buddy of mine trimmed it to time at about 11 o'clock (originally timed about 945/10 0'clock).Don't know how much exactly was taken off but it wasn't much. I could've used a few manual turns on a grinder wheel and some emory clothe (like on Crufflers page?) to do the job.

Might have to trim your springs on the mag catch. I took off about 3mm just so I could press the mag release. The hole that the spring goes into on the ejector block is very shallow on the metric, basically just an indention to keep in in place. Works fine now, and is still good ane tight.

I will fire about 300 rds per gun this weekend. Those receivers make the rifles look nice.

Take care all,
