Finally got out to the range today and pounded 200 rounds of RG and Chilian ammo through the Texas built "Williams G1". With the gas regulator set to 5, I had NO failures that I can attribute to the Williams receiver. The lockng shoulder stayed put as did the ejector block pins. The gun ran like a clock. NO failures to feed, NO jamming of any kind. I am very, very pleased with the function of the gun. (The replacement gas tube helped also. Thanks Mike for picking me up one in Tulsa!)

Tha only problem I had scared the Bin Laden out of me. I was shooting and things were going great. Then I got a slam fire that shot 5 or 6 rounds before I could get off the trigger. I had notice that once in a while the hammer would follow the bolt back on single shots with no magazine in place. Didn't think twice about it. Yes, I have a DSA semi auto safety selector. Chased it down to the FSE sear. I don't know what is wrong but the hammer was not engaging the sear properly. Every thing looks OK on the FSE sear. The only thing I saw that doesn't quite look right is the sear has some lateral movement in the trigger housing. And it doesn't "feel" right. I know I put the right spring in because I never sepeated the plunger from the spring. I replaced the FSE sear with an Imbel and it shot just fine after that. (My parts count is fine also.) I am going to call RPB and see if I can get a replacement. That was very unnerving.

I was unable to get on the 50 yard range to check the point of impact with and without the Tapco Sleeved FH. I do believe the sleeved flash hider is altering the point of impact. Not really sure though. My eyes are having trouble seeing the sight picture and I am not be sure if the sleeved FH is the problem or if it is me. It is probably me.

Other than that, it was pleasent day.

Would I recommend the Wiliam's Combat Elite receiver. After today, you bet cha.

Great news to hear gunnut1 and thanks for sharing with us! I just hope the receivers I bought show up soon.

Glad to hear that you traced the problem to a simple swapout part. Hope they do the right thing for you.

Sounds like you've got a winner! :D

Gary,
Glad to hear everything went fine. Where did you go to shoot and why didn't you invite me to go with you? I know--you knew I had to work. OK, You're forgiven. Find me a couple of inexpensive inch receivers and I will finish two more inch guns to play with.
See you around Saginaw,

Mike D.

Like you said Mike, I knew you had to work. I went to the Parker Country Sportsman Club where I am a member. I would love to invite some of you guys out there but for some strange reason, the club rules say I can only invite immediate family. Don't ask me why. I think it is stupid. Hey, I guess you could be my long lost brother! It ain't the greatest range, but it is a place to shoot. And they allow FMJ ammo. At least for the time being. I have heard talk of FMJ being banned. Figures. Still an hours drive from Saginaw. The thing I like is the fact that aren't many people there. Today there were about 5 of us out there. I have been out there when I was the only one. I like it like that!

I am going to shoot my Willams G1 on wednesday. I used enough US parts to keep the stock HTS.

Which pistol grip are you using?

Gary,
I am using an IAI pistol grip. One of the things I like about it is the fact it will not allow you togo to the FA position on the selector switch. The only draw back, if this is considered a draw back, its the notch they put in to the grip for the safety selector to drop into. I had to open it up a little for the selector todrop into the detent. And I didn't even use a Dremel.
