Got a few G1 kits (refinished) from DSA. Built this one for my uncle and after shooting this group, I wish I could hold on to it! Maybe I'll talk to him about his will.

Shot this 3rnd group from 100yds w/Hirtenberger ammo. Measuring from the center of the two furthest holes is just UNDER 7/8". Radway was hitting about 7-8" under this group with the same site settings?? I've heard that Radway is under powered but sheesh!

Just read someone's post that mentioned FAL's should be sighted in to hit 2.16" above POA at 100yds, so I might adjust a bit, but DANG! I think that's the best iron site group I've ever shot. And that's out of a 40-50 yr old used surplus G1 kit.

Only problem now is that I think I'm still loosing gas somewhere. Radway cycled on a gas setting of 1-2 and the Hirt cycled on 2-3. Seems like most FALs should cycle around a setting of 5. Gas tube threads look good though so I'm not sure where to start looking. Am I off on this?

Our DSA SA58c cycles Hirt well at 4 - 4 1/2
