Got my stock set from Dan at VOW on Tuesday. The handguards are flawless. The grip has sort of a linear knot that needs to be sanded out a bit. The butt stock had a small knot pop out near the bottom, right at the butt plate. Overall, a great deal.

This is my first wooden stock and I've got some questions.

1. Where can I buy a ferrule (sp)?

2. Does the butt stock require a metal butt plate? If so where can I get one?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm guessing this is a metric set. I bought a metric set from DSA a few months ago and it came with a rubber buttpad, like the ones on plastic metric stocks.

Try DSA for the ferrule. Only $5 there and they are in great condition. Gunthings has them too but they are $10. You will probably need the rubber butt pad too, unless your stock is inletted for a trap door type butt plate. You will know by looking at the butt. If it is flat and smooth with one hole for the recoil tube nut it will use the rubber butt pad only. DSA has excellent rubber Steyr type buttpads, so does Penguin.
I don't know Penguins web address, but here is DSA:

The stock duplicates the plastic stock and needs a rubber buttpad. It is about an inch shorter than the G-1 butt.

Thanks everbody. I should have said it is a metric set.

I'll go to DSA and get the ferrule and STG pad.

Think I'll order one of those refinished G1s while I'm at it.

i do believe that tapco has the ferrule, and penguin has the rubber buutpad..
can't quote the the prices,, biirc the ferrule was like 5 bucks, and the pad could have been gotten a few weeks bak for 24.99 incl. shipping.......it matches the belgian style stock / ironwood perfectly

have fun :D
