Well I finally finished. I am very pleased with the results. (Belgian metric)
Here is a brief discription of some issues I ran into.
1. My Carrier/Bolt assembly did not slide freely. Took some lapping compound to the rails, slid the carrier back and forth a few times and the problem went away.
2. Bolt hold open lever was tight. Tighter than I like, but again lapped it in a little and again the issue went away.
3. Although not an issue for me, my barrel originally timed hand tight at around 9:00.
I turned down the barrel shoulder and got it to 11:30 / 11:40, and tightned down to 12:00.
I took Dwights recomendation and got it in at around 40/45 lbs torque.
Head spaced in at .257 I messed up the ls that came with my kit, promply ordered one from ARS (thanks Mark) and installed.
4. Mag well seem to be a little tight. But I noticed this varies depending on the Mag loaded.
I fully expected to have to do a little fine tuning on this receiver and thats exactly what I did ... A little. I would much rather have to correct a tight fit issue than a too much slop problem.
The finish is superb. I mag parked the other parts and assembled. Then I remembered that I had a "NEW" lower I ordered from Tapco. I switched out the lower and now its complete.
Like I said, I am very pleased with the finished product. Im off to the range this weekend for its initial firing. Ill post results later if wanted.
I also want to tell you guys that I had reservations regarding building on this receiver. I probably bugged the Hell out of Dwight and Lori at WAC trying to decide on it. Both Dwight and Lori were able to answer my questions and always seemed willing to put in the extra effort for me. I waited for this second run and I have no complaints.
Just posted here for info, This has been my experience.
Ive got another one of their receivers and Im raring to start on my next project.
