View Full Version : First build, first problem

I'm building on a new DSA receiver. Have a very good reparked Imbel kit. Tried to hand turn in barrel to see how it would time. Only got it in 3-4 threads before it bound up to hand pressure. Barrel threads look heavily parked. Wire brush, valve compound? Don't want to screw this up. Thanks.

Do you have the receiver stub from the kit? If so, start twisting it on and off the barrel to clean up the threads, use the valve compund if necessary I guess.

Nope, don't have the receiver stub. How about a brush and compound?

dip the threads of the barrel in birchwoodcasey bore scrubber, or vingear iirc it dissolves park. and a few drops on a qtip for inside the reciever, dont get it on anything else.

You also want to clean the vinegar off quickly as it will rust rapidly.
