Same as mine, sheath an all. Yours looks to be a bit more pristine. Used to wear mine, so I cut that damn metal belt hook off!!. Probly cut a bit of collector value off with it.

Ya probly know you can find date of manufacture with the serial number.

Nice knife. Pete Gerber sold em at cost during the "Nam".

I also have a MKII. One like that one and I had one with a gray grip and a brown sheath. Carried one for awhile in the Army but went to a mod. 14 I got from Bo. I still have a soft spot for Gerbers and carry a folder of their make.

Man, I had one just like that when I was on Kelly Hill in the old 197th BDE. Traded it for a bag of weed! What a dumbass. That might tell you a little something about the Army in general back in the late 70's! Come to think of it, I wasn't much of a soldier back then either!

They were a "must have" back in the day no doubt about that. What they lack in practicality they sure make up for in looks..!!!

Good find mate.

Damn slick looking!

I'm a proud owner of a mid 90's model. I am thoroughly jealous. :D

Picked up one a few years ago at a local flea market. Someone had cut the pommel of the handle off..still cant figure out why... and cut the belt hook off. But it was the modle w/ the sharpening steel in a pouch on the front of the sheath ( steel included) all for $40.00

I always wondered how far into the handle the tang goes? Thought if it didn't run too deep, I could drill and tap a hole and add a pommel

Damn nice knife dwarmbrodt
