View Full Version : Found Interordanace OK . against advise here?
November 22, 2001, 22:06
I just received products from Inter-ordnance
The parts arrived in 1 week from order date
and came in as described. I was scared to place the order after reading stories on here, but decided it was worth the gamble.(they listed things I wanted at great prices)
I realize they seem some-what condemned here.
I would consider buying from them again.
Just my 2 cents.

Dealing with them is like rolling the dice.
I've bought several items from them over the years and haven't been burnt yet (knock on wood).
One thing about them, when you order, verify that they have the items in stock, ask them several times if they are in stock. then sit back and wait because USUALLY it takes longer then a week for the stuff to get there.
They have a habit of advertising product that they haven't received yet. So, once again, verify that it is in stock.

I got six IMBEL kits from them. Nice kits. I was missing a front swivel and and a carry handle was broken. I called to ask for replacements and the gal I talked to was nice and said they would send the two items right along. Couple of weeks and I haven't received it. The stuff came today, right before I was going to call. I have to sayI'm pleased but still leery.

I bought some G3 mags from them about a month ago. The product was as advertised and came in somewhat timely manner. One thing I've noticed about many companies that sell firearms, parts, & accessories is that a lot of them don't get in any hurry to ship. In the course of ordering truck parts or just about anything else I have shipped in it seems like it goes on the truck to go out the next day at the latest. So perhaps my expectations of fast order fulfillment on gun parts are jaded because of this. From what I've read dealing with IO is a crap shoot though I'd probably buy from them again.

Lots of companies only ship a few times a month. It keeps their shipping costs down.

I ordered oneof their grade 2 imbel kits for $124.95 on 11/15/01 & it was shipped on 11/19/01 & should get here on 11/28/01. They answered my email about the ship date, plus he called me to tell me about it. they're doing real good so far. :)

From my observations, both personal experience and the tales of others, it goes like this.
Parts, accessories, and stuff they do fairly good to half-assed on.
Whole firearms, and/or kits, on the other hand, tend to be late and way overgraded all too often.
So, I concluded that it was good odds to buy mags and accessories and suchlike from them. But firearms or kits? No way. Way too many horror stories there.

My experiance has been like most, its like Vegas. Be wiling to take a loss. No problems with mag, small parts orders. BUT I'm about to throw my money in the pit and do their 5 for $99. Hopefully the dice will treat me nice.

I have had good luck with IO through 4 orders. 2 rifles, ammunition and some magazines. Just this week I received a VG Yugo SKS that is unissued 99%, matching condition.

Man, you do like spinning with three bullets in the cylinder! I'm glad it worked out well for you.

Does IO have a website?

I wouldn't buy anything from IO. They make a living from the 20%restocking fee.

I ordered 2 Imbel kits (grade II), and was very happy with their condition (complete, matching #s, and nice bores), and gave the free toy tank to my two year old who also appears happy with the transaction. :)

I've ordered something over $5000 worth of kits and mags from them over the last two years. Waited a good bit for some stuff I knew was a back-order, but so far I've received everything eventually and nothing has had to go back. I don't doubt some people do have problems, but some are just very hard to please. That's not to say the complaints are not valid. I'm sure many of them are. I've also heard guys winge and moan cause a pin or $5 mag is missing or there are scuffs on a grip or handguard. If that kind of thing is likely to send you into low earth orbit, stay away from I/O(and kits in general). This stuff is all surplus and generally imperfect in some way.
I think the odds of getting what you want from I/O are good(not perfect)as long as you're reasonable. If you're unlucky enough to get garbage, your problems are just beginning. I/O's customer service is reportedly pretty poor. I say 'reportedly' since I've not had any problems with them myself.

Have ordered mags and such from IO several times and am 100% satisfied with the price, quality, and shipping times. That being said I also believe others when they say they have had trouble with kits and whole guns so I do not need to roll the dice on these. Same reason I don't mess with Hesse receivers.

I received my imbel kit today 11/28/01. I received my order pretty quick, seeing it had to go to oregon from north carolina over T-day weekend. It has a nice shiny bore :D better start cleaning it up. I'm very happy with IO. I'll deal with them again.
