View Full Version : Low Price On Enterprise Receivers

The low price on the inch receivers comes with a price. I ordered mine almost 3 weeks ago and was told it would be a week before it went out. After 2 weeks I contacted them and was told it was scheduled for production and would go out in 7 days. Now, a week later, I am told they are so busy my receiver is not even scheduled and will be awhile longer before they can get to it. I cancelled my order out of concern for quality. If they are that backed up, there may be too much pressure to produce faster which can cause errors. I am not saying that would be the case but it worries me when I put my face next to 40K to 50K pressure. I have another theory about the time frame. There may have been quantity orders which took over the lead in production and my one little receiver was bullied to the rear. I'll just wait for a better day and maybe a better deal somewhere.

Very weird that they would announce a sale without a decent inventory. Oh well..

take care,

Since they have not offered the Inch for sale for quite awhile, my guess is they were overwhelmed with orders. Sometimes it happens when demand outweighs supply....

Well, I ordered 2 inch receivers last week and they told me that they were out of stock but that mine would be in the next production run in about 2 weeks. This is the same sort of thing that happened to me with the DSA group buy with the type 2. C'est la vie.

they're production line is set up for a different project at this time. basically, they do their inch runs at the beginning of the month. I've got two on order and I'm not too worried about the delivery time.

In June I ordered my DSA rec, arrived in 5 days.
Last week I ordered a SS DSA and an Imbel, DSa said 3 weeks for the SS production run, the Imbel was out of stock.
Since 9/11 there has been a lot of folks building FALs...

Good news for me then, I ordered 1 this week and didn't want to wait for the custom markings, But if I have to wait, I'll give then a call and see if I can get it marked C2A1. for $35.00 more.

I'm still waiting on mine after 3-1/2 weeks. I'm not waiting on it to go into combat and I'm an adult so I can wait. I was told it would be a while when I ordered because of the great response anyway. I got the custome serial # too. The price is very right and unless CNC machines balk under pressure I've NO concerns about safety. I'm still preparing my kit and waiting on my "group buy" H,T, & S to arrive. Hats off to all you "inch" builders out there!

I think that the back order status is completely understandable. This is the first time (that I am aware of) that Entreprise has offered the Inch receiver at such a substantially discounted price. There have been alot of people that had expressed an interest but waited due to the high price of the receiver. Couple that with the number of Inch kits sold in the last six months and the availability of U.S. made Inch parts and this backlog should not come as any suprise. I don't think that demand is going to create a problem in the quality control area. As for a better day and a better deal, Well, Maybe! I wish that this sale had been offered in June, I would have saved $200.00 on Inch pattern rifles. You can bet your ass that I would wait on them.
Regards,
Jim

That was an uncalled for cheap shot Red4. I'm happy you consider yourself to be an adult. That is an admirable goal to set in life. This has nothing to do with patience. I would be glad to wait 2 months for it if that is what I was told it would take. I am in no hurry. I have just finished a G1 and am presently working on 2 L1A1's. I don't like to have an open credit card # just sitting out there waiting for a company to fill in the blanks when they can't even tell me a correct production time after three tries. If you reread the original post you will not find any whinning. It was posted in "Reviews", not "Dumping Brass." It should be a concern for everyone when a critical part may be produced under stress conditions but you will also notice that I did not level any declared problems with the quality of their product. I have a Type 1 metric from them and am well satisfied. We shouldn't have to worry about being shot at on this site when we post legitimate observations. Shalom!

ephv,
I am sorry for the delay you and the rest of our customers have experienced. We did not expect the response we did and frankly became overwhelmed with orders. The L1A1's are a backordered item at the moment. This backorder is perpetual. As we fill orders, more are coming in. We are filling orders in the order received. In the initial weeks of the sale, the trememdous response lead way to inaccurate lead times. We are working to fill all orders but will not rush any of our processes to do so.

I have spoke to you salesperson and have kept you in line on our delivery list. When your order comes up, he will call you and give you the option of processing the order. I am sorry for the delay and hope this sheds some light on the current status. If you have any questions, please email or call me.

Regards.

I ordered two entreprise inch type 1 receivers (one w/ cust SN) about 3 weeks ago (received SGN w/ sale ad on Sat, ordered 1st thing on monday). Bob (FFL guy from Gun Club) was told it would ship in 3 weeks. I've asked Bob to call them today and get an update (PlanA: before thanks giving 4d weekend, PlanB: before Xmas 4d weekend). The longer it takes, the better a 1st prod run Williams Type 1 inch steel receiver sounds. I wonder if Williams will be true inch (use commonwealth inch pattern dimensions) or just a metric modified to take inch mags?

I ordered 2 inch receivers by phone 2 weeks ago and spoke directly with Lawrence. He told me there would be a delay and to email him the next week for a more definitive ship date. His timely email told me that it would be about three weeks before shipped. They've got a lot of inch orders to fill since they are the only ones making authentic looking inch receivers. IIRC the Williams is inch cut but the lightning cuts look like a type one metric. I really like the last inch receiver I got from Entreprise and it was built into one fine gun!

Lawrence--Thanks for the info and effort to service us. I have no problem with the product you produce. It looks and functions great. I hope it didn't sound as if I was trashing you because I wasn't. Please do keep me in line and let me know when (if)(haha!) it comes up. I'll e-mail you directly to say thanks.

PS Phantom---If you want the best receiver and you have ordered an Entreprise, don't cancel the order and go to Williams. You are going backwards. My issue was an open credit card with no production date. It is all settled now. Stay where you are and get a good looking and functioning product.

Thanks---It takes a big man to apologize in public. You just move up to the top in my esteem. My brother-in-law is Master Blaster and it is all his fault that I am hooked on this stuff. After I got the G1 he said, "You can't have just one." So now I have 2 more. Both inch and waiting to be born. Close now- I can feel the contractions. I may get spade after this. No room left in the gun closet.

Lawrence is a professional in every sense of the word. The direct response is not uncommon in my experience. Every receiver that I have purchased, has come from these folks and I have never had a complaint.

I've built up nine FAL's this past summer/fall, all on various Entreprises [inch, type 1 & 3). Not implying other offerings out there are better or worse, just that at the prices Entreprise is asking, these are a bargain. I wish I had $1,590 in pocket, cuz I'd buy ten type 3s and save 'em for *my* rainy day. Despite what others more knowledgeable than I claim, I cannot discern any quality differences in a type 3 Imbel or Entreprise. Both offerings have built up into nice shooting rifles with minimal or no setbacks.

Although I love the way a type 1, or a DSA type 2, looks (and I admit to having a couple or three type 1s), I do love the beefy, industrial slab-sides in the type 3 Imbels and Entreprises.

Keep us posted on your build!

Check this link (http://www.l1a1.com/cgi-bin/forums/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=007755) for the receiver selections. The sale should be going until the end of the year.

I read these posts with great interest, I was always under the impression Enterprise was way down on the list as far as quality. NOW I read all you people love them! OK, with all this praise I may order 2 metric receivers from Enterprise, are they in stock? :D

I have two FALs on Imbel receivers. The ramainder are built on Entre'prise.

I have a Type 3 Entre'prise going together next week and I intend to order three Inch pattern receivers next month.

I believe the Type 3 to be an exceptional value and the Inch type kits I have deserve an inch type receiver.

I will put my G1 together on an Entre'prise Type 1. This was formerly the Williams project that got so fouled up. This will make a good looking gun.
