It arrived today way better than expected. I did the refurb option and it all looks like new. I got a near mint bore and the wood is dark but nice. I'm so happy, almost like the day my baby boy was born--almost.

I received my DSA order yesterday (10/09/01).
I decided against the re-park since the kit's were described as "Good". Even at the $134.00 price, DSA's are a super deal. Overall condition a little better than the G1's I got from Tapco. (DSA includes, new metal hand guards, new grip, carry handle and cocking knob included. Ejector block was included too.)
DSA had metric clips for $5.00 each. They are an excellent deal all the clips I received looked new.

We just put a DSA G-1 kit together out in the garage. Very nice and very tight. Couldn't use the L-S that came with the kit but I did have the right size on hand. So off to the range he went, should get a report back soon. Oh he opted for the DSA refinish and all I can say for $40 bucks it is well worth it.
We used Kilowatter method with the rods to time, very sweet. Thanks Bro.
Whats a five dollar clip used for  :D
My kit from DSA should be here this week,
YEA BABY !!!!

Magazines, clips... I don't care. They'll hold 20 rounds of .308 and fit my metric FAL for 5 bucks each. Woops, Damn I just screwed up again, twice! I'm sorry I meant to write BULLETS and Dollars.
Still learning every day. ;)

How long did it take to receive your kit from DSA?

DSA shipped both my refinished kits within three days of ordering. Service may be faster with non-refinished kits.

Standard kits ordered on...Humm...Palm Pilot time...10/03/01 afternoon. BBT (see I did learn something here) dropped them on the 9th. 6 days (including the weekend).
I'd like to order a couple more but I'm getting close to FAL poor. On second thought, Nah, I wouldn't order those old greasy, toe-up, woe-out junkers. ;) Don't forget the $5.00 MAGS too! :D

Sparky: I though you were going to say you bought the company. :D
Was the second as good as the first? DSA must've ran out of the early "matching" ones by now.

He's back from the range! Well there was a problem related to FTF. I was back at Brians today, and upon compairing my G-1 barrel against an Imbel, STG, and R-1 we found the angle {champerd sp area} where the round feeds into the chamber to be much more abrupt. We disassembled the barrel from the receiver{IMBEL} and got out the dremel and laid down the angle some, then a little polishing. We put it back together and off to the hills i went. I put 60 rounds through it with the gas set at 4 1/2 and didn't have a single problem. I unloaded one 20 rd mag as fast as i could pull the trigger. Damn that felt good!!
The first time out I couldn't get more than 3 rounds through it without a hang up.
It sure feels good to kick a problem right square in the ASS. Thanks Brian!!!

I received my DSA G-1 kit and could not be more pleased. Bolt and carrier match the lower, excellent bore. I went for the refinish option. It looks great. Overall a real deal.

I ordered a DSA refinished G1 kit on Friday afternoon and it arrived today. I don't claim to know a great deal about FAL's (yet), but I've been shooting and tinkering with guns for 25 plus years. THIS THING IS BEAUTIFUL! I can't believe the value. The metal parts do indeed look new. The stock has dings, but can easily be refinished to like new also. The barrel has obviously been shot, but it's bright, with no defects and the rifling rates very good + to excellent. I'm trying not to get anxious, but I'm going to go crazy until my receiver comes in and I can get this puppy together. By the way, the numbers "almost" match. The barrel and lower are the same, but the bolt carrier is different. In case you didn't get it yet, I'm VERY happy with this kit. :D :D

I just received mine today also. A lot of it looks great, but there are a few problems. The pistol grip bolt is bent. The grip was installed and at the rear it sticks out 3/8" off the lower. I'll have to bend the bolt back. The stock has a nasty gash at the back (I'm bummed about this) and I don't know how to repair it. The bolt, firing pin, extractor and all related parts are missing. I called DSA today and another bolt is on it's way. Otherwise, with the exception of one screw that is messed up, and the stock, the kit looks great and the barrel looks almost perfect. Way nicer than my Entreprise STG58C looked. I'm waiting for a Williams upper and Tapco US parts and I'll be building a G-1.

I'd like to say that I repaired the bent pistol grip bolt in about five seconds flat. I was able to use a iron to pull 95% of that gash out of the stock and after refinishing, the stock looks great! Still waiting for the bolt, but I'm sure it's on it's way. This is a really nice kit for the price. I can't wait for the Williams upper to come in so I can finish this baby up!
