Just saw the ad from Classic Arms on the 1K Rds. of Portuguese 308 for $129.95. Has anyone tried this stuff and what do you think. One can't ever have enough blasting ammo. Thanks.

Port ammo I've heard is supposed to be very good in the accuracy department. I don't know first hand, since all I've used is the S. African. But at that price, you can't go wrong.
Thanks for sharing, now I'm going to buy everything they have before you get a chance too. :D

I got 1k from aim surplus for $140. It is good ammo 200 round sealed battlepacs 5 to a wooden crate. I paid a little more than some but you learn from your mistakes. Aim has my account on file so it was easy to order.

I finally got my case of "sealed" Hirtenberger from SOG. Two of the packs were sealed, the other three, while still in the packs, had pin holes, etc., which I find hard to consider as sealed, especially since it all smelled like an old dungeon. Anyways, the ammo was $150 ($175 after shipping and tax), and I like the Hirtenberger. I've heard great things about the Portugese. and I'll probably buy some in the future. Do tell how it turns out... :)

Guys, prices are great, but let us know the shipping cost and where it was shipped to and from.
I bought a case of Portuguese from Sportsmanguide a few months ago for $126.00 plus shipping to OR. for a total of $154.00 . I have used Radway, Hirteberg, South African, DAG, Malasian, and Portuguese. I would rate the Portuguese right at the top.

I haven't tried the Portuguese out of my L1A1 yet, but out of my M1A it will do 1.5" at 100, from prone. Good stuff.

Wolverine, you will like the Portagee stuff. I compare it closely with the South African.

This is the best surp ammo that I have shot. From my Springfield Armory M1A with a TRW bbl it will shoot less than 1 moa when sand bagged in. Only problem is that it is steel jacketed with a copper wash, so I can't shoot it at the indoor range in Robbinsdale. I have gone through 1 case (not battle pack) and every round went boom! By the way my wife is a Portuguese National, I have spent considerable time in Portugal and know first hand of thier work ethic, I have no idea how they make such first rate ammo???
