I got one of the kits from an ad off the board. Got it from Scott at www.surplusammo.com (http://www.surplusammo.com) The kit was all that was promised and then some. Kit is a grade 3 but to my surprise it has most of the coating still intact. (except the barrel). I have found no pitting at all. rifling looks great.
plastic is all good. I did find some minor surface rust on the mag. that came with it.
I am quite pleased. Best 110.00 Ive spent on gun parts in a long time! The compasny did ALL that was promised.I will do business with him again! Andy

Depends on where you are. It takes about 10 days for UPS ground to cross the continent.

I'm glad to hear that the bore was nice. I ordered one also, and live in Florida. It should be here sometime after the first of December.

Picked mine up from the apartment office today....dare Iay these are a better deal than the old $99 R1 kits????

Very pleased. Furniture is in very good condition, carry handle ain't broke, all matching numbers!!!, and the extra goodies.

Have not had a chance to squegee the cosmo sludge from the barrel, but it looks good so far. Even if the barrel is a sewer pipe, I will still be very happy. Wish I could aford another, but I am tapped out on kits!

Ordered on the 19th, shipped on the 20th, arrived on the 29th, Thanks Scott for the great deal.

Jump on this deal if you can!!

Hey Everyone,
I e-mailed Scott at Surplus Ammo and asked for the UPS Tracking number this morning. With in minuets he answered my request. I was able to go to the UPS Site and find that my kit should be at my house by Monday, 3 Dec. :) Two thumbs up for Scott so far!

Mine arrived today. well packaged, it survived the UPS grollias. The kit is in amazingly great shape. Very good bore. Bolt and carrier match. The lower and barrel doesn't have numbers, but then again like Gunplumber says so long as the parts are in-spec is what matters. Zero dimples on the lower from the rattail. Furnature very good. Its in a lot better shape than the G1 Kit I got. Wish I would have bought two.

Been off the board for a few days because of a bad connection. Glad I got it fixed. Just placed an order.

Got mine today. It is a Charlie Brown. Most of the parts are in great shape and the internals are very good+. Bore is a waste though. Lots of pitting. It may shoot "ok" but I might as well get a new Imbel barrel while I can anyway. An irony here is that I not only purchased this kit for the price (and it is a great deal) but I specifically wanted the lower receiver parts to outfit a new aluminum lower. However, my kit is missing the take-down lever and the fire control selector. Bummer. I've e-mailed Scott so I am confident he will rectify this.

I'm waiting for my kits. I've been tracking them through UPS, and they've cleared the Toledo hub, which is the last stop before they get to my local UPS customer counter, just North of Detroit. I know. I'm way too into tracking my stuff through UPS, but I really want to see what kind of shape my kits are in. I'm crossing my fingers for nice bores.

Mine cleared the Cash, IL hub and is on it's way to Charlotte! :D
The frustrating part is that for the first few days, UPS didn't recognise the tracking number in their computer....and it seems that the kit sat for a full weekend @ UPS before being put on a truck!

I received my Imbel kit from Soctt today and am very pleased. Better condition that the group purchase Imbels at twice the price. Missing finish on front of handguard and exposed portion of barrel. Barrel cleaned up very well. Fairly well packaged except the cut receiver gouged the pistol grip.

Thanks, Scott!

got mine today. everthing that can be touched when it is assembled is silver, but not rusty or pitted, the plastic is great, the cleaning kit had all the stuff in it,and all #'s match.the bore is good with a few dark spots but may clean up better with more efffort.I like it.it has the horizontal take down lever, which is wierd for me,never had one. this will be used to make lightwieght carbine it will refinish to like new. great kit for the price, better than the G1 except the finish is more worn.yeah,I should have got 2-3 more, last year!!

Well, I just got my kit. As a few have said previously, the finish is...ahhh, err...FINISHED! The furniture however, ain't bad....a little cleaning up and the few nicks and scratches that are there should hide nicely. The butt pad however will probably have to be replaced (though the existing one is servicable).
Mechanicly, she ain't bad. She's had a few rounds put through her, but the bore was surprisingly nice.
While not greasy (as advertised), she was dirty as hell. The cleaning kit was complete, the mag charger was in great shape but the bayonet was a tad worn and the mag was definately "rode hard & put away wet".
Overall, she'll make a fine winter project....definately worth the $100.
