I just recieved my m16/G1 parts from Tapco. Not bad, G1 is in decent shape, bore shiny and fairly sharp, wood is pretty good too, handguards are worthless though. M16 fairly worn, fair bore and will make a nice shooter. Unfortunately Tapco didn't ship the sleeved flashider I also ordered.... I'll have to follow up on that. All in all a pretty good deal. RT

When did you place your order for your Kits.
I placed an order last week for a L1A1 Kit
and have not received it yet.

Orderd a G-1 kit on Oct25th. They said it would take 7-10 bussiness days. you can expect that. The mail is not moveing like it should due to all the scares. You can call TAPCO and get a tracking # and track your order on the internet. However I asked the salesman if my G-1 kit came with a flash supressor like the picture showed on the net and he said yes!?.. I wonder what will be in the box. Just gotta be patient I guess..

If your still waiting on your Kit, you may want to start ordering your upper reciever now. That will be another 7-10 days also. So get a jump now.

The mail may not be moving, but UPS is, and seems to be going faster than before 9/11.
UPS transit time for the G1 kit I ordered from Tapco last month was two days. Ordered Oct. 2nd, delivered Oct. 12th. Same deal with a camera lens I ordered this week, UPS delivery time by regular ground service was two days.
I'm happy with the G1 kit. The bore looks excellent. The handguards are kind of beaten up. They're useable, but could use refinishing. I plan on replacing them with US parts, though. The pistol grip (plastic) is fine, the stock (wood) is good, too.
If it were available (it may have been, and I missed it) I'd have bought the kit with the US HG/PG/stock & flashider, since I planned on replacing all of those with US parts, anyway. D'oh!
