I have some experience setting up press brakes as well as designing tooling for brakes. Lacking a mill but having a serviceable 12 ton floor press I went to the drawing board to see about designing an offset punch for this purpose. I do some welding experience with 110 V wire feeders but never tried stick, which I think would be better. I also scrounged up a case hardening recipe that I'd try if I ever built this.

The punch would be made from 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" x 1/2" angle, with a piece of 1/2" x 1" steel welded along the lower edge. It would need to be guided into the female somehow for accuracy's sake.

Most of my experience on brakes was with lexan, PVC and polyester sheets. I could see where a 90* punch would probably result in a 92* bend and have seen 88* die sets that probably overcome this problem.

Anyhow, here it is, LMK what you guys think.
