Wise ones....

My preban Norinco SKS is dressed in a Choate Drangunov. It's ok but I wanted to find an original chicom wood stock to put on it to try.
To my rescue came Cheaper than Dirt with their SKS-175 survival package or whatever, with a new wood stock, various bolts parts springs etc..etc..all new unmarked in the grease.

The wood stock looks brand new and of course my norinco will not drop in. Not even close. The captive mag will not drop thru the cut-out is not opened up enough by a long shot. THis stock has a recoil lug in it about where the mag pivot is on the rifle. There seems to be no place on the norinco for this recoil lug to fit..

What have I got here?

I'd have some photos normally but my camera is en route from Cebu in the Philippines where I left it....doh!

I wonder "IF" you have a Stock for one of the AK Mag SKS's?
These were an SKS varient that uses Standard AK mags, and the wood is quite a Bit Different. The Opening for the Fixed Stock I would imagine would be much Larger?
Is the Wood kind of Long Grain almost Stringy looking?
Is the Stock of the Bunghole variety?

Dynomike--I figgerd it out. You got me thinking about that magwell cutout... It IS the correct stock. Ya hafta push the magwell down thru the tight spot and when it pops out everything is pretty much in place. I figured out where the recoil lug is supposed to fit also. It will take just a wee bit of fit-work to get everything lined up right and the handguard needs some fitting also
The wood is really light weight, almost like balsa and yes it does appear long grain and is finished with a red lacquer. I think I will strip it and do my stain and tung oil before I reassemble.

Thanks dude!

If i get my camera back soon I might get a photo up.
