Can a set of wood L1A1 handguards be made to fit (by routing, sanding, carving, etc), on an Imbel?

I'm not that concerned with having to remove wood to assure a proper fit and appearance. I'm more concerned if there would be areas that would require filling in or leave too much of a gap (between the handguard halves and/or around the gas block for example).

Slap them on, thats it. No fitting required.

They're not going to fit. The best thing you can do is to box them up and send them to me. I'll get you some original imbel.

I've discovered that you might need a matching gas tube nut as the full wood hanguards must fit the nut correctly or it will wobble like crazy.
