Have you ever used the .310 123 grain bullets in 7.62x54R and shot them through a Mosin-Nagant? If you have, were the results acceptable to you? I would try 125 gr .308s, but I don't think the 54R case will grip them firmly enough. Thanks.

I have done that plenty of times. The recoil from the M44 carbine was a problem for me. I started loading the 123s and they worked great and recoil was fine, accurate too.

That is all I shoot from the carbine now.

I do the same thing for my dad to shoot his SMLE #5, he just couldn't take the recoil of the 174's. The 123's at about 2500 are fun to shoot.

Wotcher doin' Meb' ? Pullin berdan 54R down and re-stuffin' it ? Prolly have a time gettin .308 pellets tight, I agree. Maybe not. The numbers don't work to my notion. If you can get the neck into a die, then have a .309 expander to come back up out of it, then you would be golden for .308.

Yes I think I am about to do some of that for two reasons: 1. No FMJ at range. 2. Ligher bullets seem to lower POI. All the Mosins I have want to throw over the backstop. Owl you are eh-smart, like ce. I think the .310s are actually cheaper than the .308s, so I'm try it like that and see what happens. Probly less fiddling.
