I was playing around with some older .38 S&W ammo I had while test firing my new Webley Mk IV. Big deep boom and a lot of smoke. They were Rem-UMC marked BP cartridges!! I wish I woulda known before I turned them into smoke, but it was pretty cool. Accuracy was pretty bad compared to my Red Dot load. I had gotten these a while back when Sarco was selling mixed ammo for $40/k. What would be the time period for these shells?

I had some from the 30's. The cases were balloon head and could not be reloaded with smokeless powder, they would rupture 75% of the time..

I have a lifetime supply of cases. I'll toss these few just to be safe. Thanks for the heads up.
R-B....I enjoyed the roadtrip through your area a couple of weeks back, nice country. I'll have to find a reason to get back up there sometime.
