I recently aquired 1100 FMJ .308 pulls. When I sorted them I found:

407- non-magnetic, boattail, cannelure like cast bullet, avg. wt. 143.6gr.
359- non-magnetic, boattail, normal cannelure nerled, avg. wt. 147.6gr.
184- magnetic, boattail, normal cannelure nerled, avg. wt. 146.7gr.
95- magnetic, boattail, cannelure like cast bullet, avg. wt. 145.6gr.
42- non-magnetic, boattail, different cannelures (some narrow nerled, some round bottomed, some sqr. bottom) similar wt., ave. wt. 143.8
1- magnetic, boattail, square botomed cannelure not nerled, wt. 144.4gr.
2- magnetic, flat base, 138.7gr.
1- magnetic, boattail, 2 cannelures, 149.9gr.
1- non-magnetic, boattail, no cannelure, 173.7
8- damaged, I will discard

Is this about normal? After reading other posts I expected some odd-balls. I wasn't expecting match bullets but I thought they might be a little tiny weeny bit less diverse. Would you guys work up one load with the heaviest and use that charge for all or would you load them as say 2 groups- nominal 144gr. and 147gr.? In reality, this will be blasting ammo but I'd like to keep it minute of gong :) .

Although I didn't quite break them down that far, it's about the mix I received in a 1K batch I got from wideners last fall. I was wishing for a little more "uniformity".

I'd pick one charge and load 'em up.
