View Full Version : Installing Tapco AK piston

The person who posted before this asked if the piston is supposed to wiggle.When I had the guy who built my AK install the U.S. marked piston he put it in tight and no more wiggle.Is this wrong?I guess my question is should he have put a wiggle in it?

it should have some play. about 1/16" before bottoming out on the carrier.
this is to allow for variance in the gas tube/reciever alignment. if it runs ok leave it as is, but you can still back it out a bit and re drill the pin hole. not a big deal really.
