What method do y'all use to anneal brass. I need to anneal some .35 Remington brass and wanted to know what methods y'all use. I've always done the brass in the water thing, heat the exposed inch of brass red hot then tip it over into the water. Just looking for better methods. TIA

Actually, you're probably heating it too hot if you're heating it red-hot. The method I've always used is to turn the lights off (or down low) and heat the brass until the color just begins to visibly change. Some say there's no need to tip the brass over into the water, but I always do.
Another method is to dip the case neck and shoulder into molten lead, and leave it there until it gets too hot to hold with your bare fingers, then drop it into water. I'm concerned about having water and molten lead in that close proximity with one another - if you've ever gotten a drop or two of sweat in your lead pot when casting bullets, then you know why!
