View Full Version : Substitute for AcraRelease
Does anyone know of a common substitute for the Brownells AcraRelease? I have some of the Steel Bed resin and hardner but don't have a releasing agent. Anyone have experience with this product? Thanks for any help/advice.................. :)

I know a guy that used Pam cooking spray in his pattern shop for a release agent, he said it was the best stuff he ever used.

I've heard car wax works as well.

Either of the above should work just fine. Car wax is nice, cause you can see where you've got it.
Try it on a couple of spare pieces of metal that you've got around if you need convincing. Better to do that than to have your rifle turn into an inseperable assy.

Pam spray on works great. I've bedded a few M1A's using the Pam, sprays on and coats evenly.
