sledgehammer and I weighed an assembled G1 with a Williams receiver and an Argy FAL with plastic furniture. The Argy had no bipod attached nor did the G1.

The weight difference was two pounds.

Kind of shocking, frankly.

Bill,
what was the total for the G1 less bipod? I am going this same route, but with an 18" bbl no barrel device.

It was right at 8lbs.

With the DSA alloy lower and a Penguin nylon stock it could be much lower.

The the felt recoil was not any worse, by the way.

I have a Williams upper and Alloy lower on my FAL. Weight is 7.25 lbs. Less than my AR-15.

Hi Tod,
What buttstock did you use? Seems a bit heavy. Barrel length? Of course, being lighter than an Ar has it's advantages. :-)
