We just received a custom project using a heavy barrel in 22-250. The barrel came from Brad/Gunthings. It's a great looking barrel and will build into a nice rifle. I will post before and after pictures as this project progresses.

I think my wife may understand when I say "I have to have one of these too! It looks the same, but it's a different caliber."

I can see it now, FALs in 22-250, 7mm08, .260, .358, etc. Humm, .358 Winchester, the ultimate "woods" walking FAL. Now what would be way cool would be an FAL in .284 Winchester, where are my calipers?

Now a FAL in .358 Winchester, THAT would be cool! Call it the STG-(3)58, maybe!

We would then have our ideal weapon for dispatching loud, 4:00 a.m. garbage trucks and irritated bruins!

I can hear it now:

"ROAARR..screech...ROARRRRRR....clang..clunk..clang ...ROAARRRRRRRR...THUNK/CLANK...crash....."

"HEYSHADDDUPPPOUTTHERE!!!! WE'RE TRYING TO SLEEP!!! ITS FOUR EH EMM FOR CRIPES SAKE!!!!!"

"SCREW YOU, BUDDY! I GODDAH JAB TA DO!"

"RROOAAARRRRRRR...CLANG...BAM...CLANG"

"BOOMBOOMBOOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMB OOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOM...tinkle..tinkle.. tinkle..."

"AWRIGHT ALREADY, YOU DA MAN! CALL ME A CAB, WOUJA?."

Make mine a .358, please! The BEARFAL!

Jeeez... Why not just go 375 H&H! That would pretty much take care of anything that bothers anyone, including those pesky engine blocks.

Ooooooo,
I'll bet the barrel is a full 2 ft 2 in. long, chrome moly in the white, very heavy behind the gas block and .850 dia all the way to the front :D And has an awsome extractor cut in it as well. And I'll bet it has a new Izzy gas block on it.
Did I win?

I think its been mentioned once or twice before, resurrect the the SAR 4800 in 5.56mm. No, not Springfield Armory, you, Lawrence. Add a few refinements and lighten her up a bit. I'm sure there's a lot of odd ball caliber requests but a lot of us would like a production model FAL in .223.

I'm not sure about .358. Too long for easy conversion, if I remember correctly. However, 7mm-08 would be close to the Ideal FAL caliber.

.223 FAL PLEEEASE!!!

Although a "Soviet FAL" is sorta intriquing... 7.62x39 of course or a REAL KEWL 5.45x39.
