Does anyone know who works on these things? A buddy at work paid $400 for one of the Japanese AR-15 copies. They actually look pretty well made, except that it doesn't work.

Ask on the appropriate board at Bower's: www.subguns.com (http://www.subguns.com) (unsure which one now that the rules have changed).
Some of those guys are familiar with these.
