HELP, i need to know how to restore G1 handguards!

PLEASE, somebody tell me how to remove the dents from the G1 pressed steel handguards! (since i'm a little cheaper than Jack Benny, please don't suggest that i have some made!)
there's got to be a way.

Lay the hand guard on the table and if the dent is to the inside. Take a punch and gently tap on the punch until the dent is gone. If the dent is to the inside. find a piece of metal that closley matches the conteur of the hand guard and us it as a back up "dolly". Do the same thing with the punch. Be gental and go slow.

Or, buy a set from Entreprise. I bought a set that looks new with new park for $35.00.

The only way to restore them is the way i did with the one that cam with my G1 kit.Take a garbage can and throw them in there. :) :) :D i got some replacements from someone on this boad for cheap.Why bother?
