What type welding rod or wire (if any) will allow it to be Parked to match the rest of the gun?

Thanks,

I would think any mild steel rod/wire would be fine,I'am not sure but we used to use a lot of 7018 wire on our migs at work, its copper coated mild steel wire and we welded most all mild steel plate with it.HTH

All steel electrodes or filler will Parkerize, but the question is whether it will Parkerize just like the metal around it. The answer is not likely if the base metal is a significantly different composition, like low carbon alloys or if it is surface hardened. It would be best to use the same composition as the base metal for an even color.

Brownell's has some 5% nickel steel rod that blues beautifully. Not sure about parkerizing.

Drill rod(hardened steel)can be found in all standard diamters, including small stuff.
It can be cut to length, finished and takes park nicely with a little prep and patience.
