G1 Flash Hider removal

What is the secret to removing these. Mine has an arrow with the word "AUF", which is German for off, but it will not budge. What is the secret??

Turn it the other way. Really, try it, you will be suprised. HTH, Dan.

As Dan says: try it. There is a small spring latch, and it requires only moderate force to unlatch the FH.

One of mine would not budge. I noticed that the flap on the spring area was pushed in all the way. I lifted it up just a fraction using a very small screwdriver, and the FH twisted right off. This was after about 30 minutes of King Kong effort. :)
