I just picked up a Maadi ARM imported by PARS. From what I have been able to find, all MAADI's brought in during the ban had Thumbhole stocks on them. This one does not. I thought at first that the thumbhole stock had been cut out and modified, because the pistol grip is wood and shaped a bit different than most I have seen. Now I am not so sure, I have seen a couple of picks of wood grips that look like the one on mine.
Here's the gist of my question. If the rifle was originally imported with a "Bunghole" stock and at some later date was replaced with an "evil" stock and PG, does it now need to follow the import parts count rule? Anyone know how I can find out how it was imported , or know if they were indeed imported with or without Bunghole stocks.
I want to make sure I stay legal on this, because it is one fine AKM, much better fit finish and workmanship than the WASR I used to have.
Thanks in advance for any help or info.
