Well I was changeing caliber from 357 to 45LC and had to change the primer assembly from small to large. The shell hloder was off and as I pulled out the primer assembly the handle dropped fast causing the ball bearing that goes under the shell plate to dissapear.

Man I looked and looked and even got a magnet to go over the carpet but couldn't find it:( Panic set in because I have little time from work to do this so I looked around for something that might work as a ball bearing. I used a BB and everything works as normal, it fits perfect over the spring.

Hope this helps if anyone else loses the ball bearing in a square Deal.

I "NEVER" Did that...:p
I was lucky and has a Ball bearing "close" enough in size to get by untill I could get another from DILLON.
When I did conatct them I was "SURE" To order an "X-TRA" Couple..

Just because it happened to me check the Hole in the ram that the shell plate attachés too.
Once the little bugger went down there and i had to take the shellplate off of the ram to fetch it out..
This problem has happened MORE than once to me..

Definitely a GOOD Emergency Tip there Jim..

Hey Mike

Thanks, I just got into the dillon and you were right. The bearing fell into the hole. How you seen that is beyond me as I got a dental mirror and a flashlight just to check it out. Sure enough it was there so I used a tool I got from sears to magnatize the end of a allen wrench and pulled the bearing right out.

Thanks a bunch friend.

Jim

PS I compared the size of the bearing to a BB and the BB is just a tad smaller but works.

OOOPS..
Hey Jim~
Sorry for being so tardy with a Reply, Man Time just flies by.
Glad the tip was useful and that you found that little bugger.
Sucks when you are in the middle of something and a piece sooo small can stop the entire operation..
